I am a native of Mississippi and graduated from Mississippi State University with a Master of Education. I have been married for over 35 years to an outstanding gentleman with whom I have three wonderful children and nine grandchildren. I have been teaching close to twenty-five years and have taught kindergarten through sixth grade. I became a teacher because of my growing up in a community of educators, my love of children, and experiencing the joy of watching the gleam that appears in scholars’ eyes whenever that “light bulb” of “I understand; I’ve got it” comes on. I believe that all scholars can learn given the appropriate leveled materials with the opportunity to explore their untapped potential through different styles of learning. I look forward to having a wonderful year with you and your child. I will be a positive, supportive role in getting your child prepared for success in life by teaching them 21st century skills to understand and address global issues. My focus is Language Arts and I will do my best to build your child’s comprehension, writing skills, and overall skills in communication.
